This site is rich in natural and cultural resources, is a living laboratory to explore, understand and experience Calvert County's agricultural practices and lifestyles throughout its history--from Native American settlements, small scale colonial farming, and farming practices through the centuries.
A historical road trace, or rolling road, that has existed since 1865 is still a major feature of the site
Archeological investigations suggest that a domestic structure and outbuilding likely dates to the period between ca. 1720-1775
