Our spring Teen Homeschooler classes will be a 3-part series on kayaking and the ecology of the Patuxent river and its tributaries. Each month we will go out in kayaks to explore the river and the areas around it. We will use nets, water quality equipment, and our own senses to learn more about the river and the plants and animals that call it home.

We expect the teen to attend all three sessions.

Our Teen Homeschool classes will be in-person meetings because the groups are small enough to participate safely. Staff and participants will need to wear masks.  Classes will be outside only and if equipment is needed - each participant will have their own.   Each person will have their own kayak.

COVID Policies and Procedures

The Calvert Nature Society has developed policies and procedures for public program operations based on state and CDC guidelines.

These policies are effective from June 5 until otherwise rescinded:

• All participants over the age of 2 (including parents) must wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. Participants must provide their own masks.
• Please consider the safety, health, and well-being of all participants in our programs and stay home if the participant is ill. Full refunds will be given for cancellations due to health concerns. 
• Prior to participation in any Society sponsored program,  we will ask each individual, to if under 18 a parent, to complete a participant waiver.

Please download and complete the waiver prior to the program. Please print it and bring to the program. The waiver needs to be completed for each in-person program.
