Bee Happy, Too!

All ages.  Adult participation required.

FOR MEMBERS ONLY

Bees, butterflies, beetles and more! Bring your family to learn about some of the native pollinators at Battle Creek Cypress Swamp. We will get a brief overview of some of our common local pollinators, and then pick up your take-home insect kit (includes net, viewing container, insect ID guide and insect scavenger hunt activity)  and head out on your own to look high and low in our garden and meadow for butterflies and beetles.

This replaces the "Bee Happy" program to adapt to coronavirus restrictions.

Program Fee: Free, There is a $5 supply fee for each take-home insect kit. You can request more than one kit.

Reservations are required by Friday, July  3, 2020 to guarantee a take home insect kit.

Advanced Reservations are required. No walk ins allowed

COVID Policies and Procedures 

All participants over the age of 2 (including parents) must wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. Participants must provide their own masks.

The Calvert Nature Society has developed policies and procedures for public program operations based on state and CDC guidelines. 

Please consider the safety, health, and well-being of all participants in our programs and stay home if the participant is ill. Full refunds will be given for cancellations due to health concerns. 

Prior to participation in any Society sponsored program,  we will ask each individual, to if under 18 a parent, to complete a participant waiver.

Please download and complete the waiver prior to the program. You may complete it online and email to CypressSwamp@CalvertCountyMD.gov, or print it and bring to  the program.  The waiver only needs to be completed once per year.

The schedule of events is subject to changed based on the status of the coronavirus response, weather, staffing, and other situations that may arise. If Calvert Nature Society or Calvert County Natural Resources Division cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
