For All Ages

Commemorating the freedom of those who, with the help of the British, fled slavery during the War of 1812.

The daylong celebration includes:

  • Naturalist-led kayak tours: 11:30-1:00 and 2:00-3:30. Kayaks, paddles and life vests provided. Please wear clothes and shoes that can get wet; no Crocs or flip flops.
  • A walking tour 
  • Speakers
  • Woodworking Demonstrations
  • Exhibits at the historic Lower Marlboro United Methodist Church and the Lower Marlboro Hall 
  • Food Vendor
  • Ample free parking available.
