Spend time outside exploring with your family in this fun bio blitz-style event called the “City Nature Challenge.” It’s easy – look for and find wildlife and plants, take a picture, and share it to iNaturalist (this can happen back at home also).

We'll focus on the marshes and forests found at Wetland Overlook Park in North Beach.

City Nature Challenge 2019

Calvert County is part of the City Nature Challenge of the Washington DC region. Cities around the world will be competing to see who can make the most observations of nature, find the most species, and engage the most people in the 2019 City Nature Challenge.

During the weekend of April 26-29, 2019 individuals and groups will be on the hunt for animals, plants, mushrooms, and other life forms. These observations will be documented on iNaturalist and counted towards our region's tally.
